The BD4C Summer Chess Camp kicks off on June 21, 2025, final date ending August 30th. Classes will be held from 11:00 pm to 4:00 pm at 14408 Gratiot, Detroit, MI 48205. Registration is now open.
The BD4C Chess Camp is an excellent opportunity for beginners to dive into the world of chess. It's designed to introduce newcomers to the game in a fun and engaging way, ensuring they grasp the basics while enjoying the process. For more advanced players, the camp provides a safe and welcoming environment where they can play for leisure and refine their skills. It's a place where chess enthusiasts of all levels can come together, share their passion for the game, and learn from each other. Whether you're just starting out or looking to improve your strategies, this camp offers something for everyone.
Our dedicated chess cadets are enthusiastic volunteers hailing from various communities across Metro Detroit. They share a deep passion for the game of chess and are committed to making a positive impact on the lives of children. These volunteers bring their love for chess to the camp, creating a nurturing and supportive environment where young players can learn, grow, and enjoy the game. Their dedication to both chess and community service ensures that the camp is not only educational but also a place where children can feel inspired and encouraged.
A chess cadet is a volunteer who is passionate about chess and dedicated to helping young players learn and enjoy the game. Our volunteers come from various communities across Metro Detroit and bring their love for chess to the camp.
